Herman
Moore, the Detroit Lions' first-round pick in the 1991
draft, and a former University of Virginia star, played in
four Pro Bowls and was one of the NFL's premier receivers.
He had 670 catches for 9,174 yards, including 62 career
touchdown catches. Moore’s the 23rd
player in NFL history to record 9,000 career receiving
yards. From 1995-97, he averaged 111 catches, 1,425 yards
and 10.3 touchdowns. In 2001, he suffered a torn hip muscle
and the Lions placed him on injured reserve. He was
released by Detroit on June 3rd,
2002. After retiring from football, Moore plunged into
franchising, buying fifteen Cinnabon stores in both Michigan
and Florida, two Breadeaux Pizza franchises, and launched
his own coffee and bakery shop in Michigan called, “Ah! Moore”
(pronounced AH-MORAY).
