Dale
Rominski, born in Farmington Hills, Michigan, was a crafty
right-winger who starred at Brother Rice High School (where he was
named Michigan's "Mr. Hockey") before playing for Detroit Compuware
in 1994-95. He then enjoyed four solid years at the University of
Michigan -- where he was their team captain during his senior year
-- and where he contributed to NCAA titles in 1996 and 1998.
Following his senior year, Rominski signed with the NHL’s Tampa Bay
Lightning as a free agent. He started his rookie pro career in
1999-00 by scoring 14 goals with the IHL's Detroit Vipers, and
during that first season he was also recalled to the Lightning to
play 3 games for them. He had immense scoring capabilities along
with being a tireless worker in the corners who could pounce on
rebounds for the occasional goal. Rominski now spends his time
teaching hockey skills to kids in Michigan.
