"Bob, really, really cool web site! I enjoy seeing the changes and updates that you often make. You've been around a number of athletes who play at the highest level. You also have a very good understanding of the golf swing, and as to what it takes to help people with their game. You're a hell of an instructor -- and a very good guy as well. At your young age you are a very knowledgeable instructor too -- and with your high energy it's easy to see that you love what you do! It's always great to see you again, and I'm glad you made it out here to Phoenix so we could play. As always, all the best, and continued success! " - Jerry Foltz, Golf Channel

While working at Desert Mountain, in Scottsdale, Arizona, I often assisted with the Jack Nicklaus & Jim Flick (Nicklaus/Flick) Golf Schools.
I conducted Adult and Junior clinics at the Great Lakes Golf & Sports Complex (formerly called Mulligan's Golf Center), in Auburn Hills, Michigan -- where I taught full-time & year-round for 13 years (1999-2012).

Multiple times at the Buick Open (a former PGA Tour event that was held at Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club in Grand Blanc, Michigan), I was hired by the staff of Buick Motor Division to give free golf lessons to any spectator at the Buick Open. Each time that I was hired by Buick, upwards of 100 spectators a day came through the special "Buick lesson area" to take a free video lesson with me! It was a tremendous opportunity to meet hundreds of excited Michigan golfers!
PGA Teaching Professional
I have also instructed Junior golfers during my years of working at prestigious resorts like Treetops and Crooked Tree (Boyne USA Resorts).
Under the tutelage of Master PGA Teaching Professional, Rick Smith, during my 5 years (1993-1997) as a Golf Professional at Treetops Resort in Gaylord, Michigan, I gained tremendous knowledge of the golf swing. I observed and assisted him with his Rick Smith Golf Academy, and I soon became a "Rick Smith certified" instructor. Additionally, long before I had started working at Treetops -- as a junior player in high school -- I had received numerous hours of coaching from Rick Smith himself! Plus, along with having adopted many of Rick Smith's teaching techniques & philosophies, I have also assisted Smith with corporate outings & clinics, including that of Ford Motor Company.

I was employed at Black Diamond Ranch, a prestigious & extremely private club located in Lecanto, Florida. Multiple TV promo's and national commercials have been filmed on their famous 15th hole on the Quarry Course!

I owe a lot of thanks to Jim, as he helped me with my swing just days prior to me competing in the PGA's Player's Ability Test (PAT) in 1994, which I successfully passed on my first attempt! Thanks again Jim...you are dearly missed.
Rick Smith is one of the premier names in golf instruction and course design today! He has been seen and featured countless times on Golf Channel and many other networks. Smith's past and present list of PGA Tour students includes: Jack Nicklaus -- perhaps the greatest player ever, two-time U.S. Open Champion Lee Janzen, 2000 Buick Open Champion Rocco Mediate, Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, Greg Norman, Jerry Kelly and many, many others. He established the Rick Smith Golf Academy at several prestigious golf facilities across the United States. He has also designed numerous award-winning courses, including his "Signature" course at Treetops Resort in Gaylord, Michigan. Smith is a GOLF Magazine "Top 100 Teacher", a Golf Digest "Top 50 Teacher", and also the author of his fabulous book entitled, "How to find your perfect golf swing".
